It is true we make our own heaven or hell.
I have a tendency to day dream. I envision a world where the woman I love is available and loves me back.
However, the reality is these are just not the facts. So, I must be mindful of my thoughts when I am alone and especially when I am around people. More so, when I am around the person who I love and care about.
I must practice discernment with my thoughts, words, deeds and actions. I am comitted to the path of self-mastery and self-tranformation. Therefore it is paramount that I be ever vigilant with my thoughts.
My thoughts influence and create feelings. Feelings if not checked can become desire and attachment and when hurt feelings arise then aversion is present.
Some of the best advice I have ever received in affairs of the heart in the situation I discribe above was – “Just love her.” Love is beauty and unconditional love is a blessing. The other truth that that I took to heart was – “Be Still.”
Only my thinking can create pain, lonliness, and craving. The truest truth I can practice is love, be still, be open and be true to myself and serve the moment. And, be grateful for love in any small measure that I am able to give or receive.
